Most people think of me as a very serious person the very first time they meet me. Some would even think I'm slow on the uptake and not hip enough to know what is happening around me. That I talk aloud to myself in public like some crazy person.
In my defense, I would like to say I am not a serious person. Far from it, being serious all the time gives you wrinkles, a weight problem and not to mention stomach ulcers. Thinking about serious matters are important, true, but I don't let that blind me to the simple joys in life. Coffee, good conversations (assuming you can keep up) and great company.
As for being considered slow on the uptake... it just means what you're talking about are idiotic topics not worth wasting my time and breath to comment on. Or simply it's not that interesting for me. I live by the philosophy "to each his own". So do your thing and I'll do mine.
As for talking aloud in public? Sometimes the only good intellectual conversation I can get would be with myself. I want to learn from people I talk with it. If you're not up to the challenge or brave enough to step up on the plate then please don't. But don't worry, I don't embarrass people in public because I probably don't know them enough to do so and don't care to get to know them. It's not in my nature. I'm a nice guy. I only do that with my friends.
Thus ends this day's episode of: 'Ranting and wasting time with Walter.
